GUI Software and Firmware for the 9000 Series are not compatible with the 9000M2 Series units. To download 9000M2 Series software and firmware, please visit the 9000M2 Series Software page.

TOA recommends the use of a PC with a built-in RS-232 communication port using a straight through RS-232C cable. USB to RS-232 adapters are unreliable.

Firmware Update v3.50

  • Important Note: Do not use this software with 9000M2 Series units.
  • TOA recommends the use of a PC with a built-in RS-232 communication port using a straight through RS-232C cable. USB to RS-232 adapters are unreliable. (Firmware uploading using a USB to RS-232 adapter can result in the unit becoming locked in the "Update" mode and non-operational until the "Firmware Update" has been resumed and completed.)
  • This firmware version includes the new "Display Saver" mode.
  • Requires use of new 9000 Series Maintenance Software, use the above Maintenance Software v2.10 to install.
  • Note: Please read the PDF file named 9000 Series V3.50 Operation Instruction Addendum included in the ZIP.

Firmware v1.x to v3.x Update Procedure

  • Only necessary for units with firmware earlier than V2.x
  • This procedure keeps all previously programmed settings.
  • Important Note: This procedure is used only to upgrade 9000 Series units with V1.xx firmware. Do not use this procedure with units having V2.xx or higher firmware. Do not use this procedure with 9000M2 Series units.
  • Note: If you do not need to retain settings programmed in v1.x firmware, please skip to Step #3 (All previously programmed settings will be erased.).
Step 1 Download, install and run 9000 Series Maintenance Software v1.0 (ZIP, 890kb) to save settings (see the 9000 Series Firmware Update manual, included in the ZIP file, for instructions on setting the 9000 unit to BACKUP mode). The purpose of this step is to provide a backup of your settings in the event that an issue occurs during Step 2.
Step 2

To update firmware and retain existing settings from firmware v1.11 or earlier, download, install and run the 9000 Series Update Software v2.01 (ZIP, 575Mb). This software is an all-in-one method of updating unit firmware to v2.01 and transferring existing settings. After successful completion, unit should display v2.01 after power-up.
Note: save existing settings first using the method noted in Step 1.

Step 3 Next, download, install and run the 9000 Series Maintenance Software v2.10 (ZIP, 1.6Mb) to save settings in the new v3.xx format (Note that this file will overwrite the previous version 1.0 installed in Step 1.
Step 4 Next, download and install 9000 Series Firmware Update v3.50 (ZIP, 477kb).
